S S Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre (SSIMS&RC) is a leading medical college in Davangere, Karnataka. The college, which was established in 2006, operates under the management of the Bapuji Educational Association. It is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). The college offers a world-class Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program that encompasses a 4.5-year course duration, followed by a one-year internship. The MBBS curriculum comprises of theoretical and practical classes, clinical rotations, community health projects, and seminars. SSIMS&RC also offers postgraduate courses including MD, MS, DM, and M.Ch. in various medical specializations. The college campus features state-of-the-art facilities including infrastructure, laboratories, libraries, hostels, and a hospital. A 1000-bedded hospital is also attached to the college, providing quality healthcare services to patients, while being a teaching hospital for students. Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the MCI to be eligible to appear for the NEET-UG exam. The basic eligibility criteria include completing the 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects, and having a minimum aggregate score of 50% in these subjects.
