NICMAR, which stands for National Institute of Construction Management And Research, was established in 1983 in Pune, Maharashtra. It was founded with the objective of offering high-quality professional education in the field of construction management and related branches of knowledge. The institution is recognized by the Ministry of Education, Government of India  NICMAR began as a collaborative effort between the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT), Ahmedabad, and the Indian construction industry.
