It was established in 2006 by the KLE Society, which runs over 250 educational institutions in Karnataka and Maharashtra. It has 10 constituent colleges, 17 departments, and 2 research centers. It is accredited by NAAC with A grade and ranked among the top 100 universities in India by NIRF Some of the courses offered by the university are MBBS, BDS, BAMS, B.Pharm, BPT, B.Sc. Nursing, MD, MS, MDS, M.Pharm, MPT, M.Sc. Nursing, DM, M.Ch, Ph.D., and fellowship programs. The admission to the university is based on the entrance exams such as NEET, KLEU-UGAIET, and KLEU-PGAIET.
