It was established in 1911s the King George's Medical College and was upgraded to the status of a university in 2002 by an act passed by the Uttar Pradesh government. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious medical colleges in the country KGMU offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in various medical disciplines, including MBBS, B.Sc (Nursing), B.D.S, M.D, M.S, M.Ch, D.M, and Ph.D. The university also offers postgraduate diploma courses in various fields. There are over 26 departments in the university, which are well-equipped with modern facilities, including laboratories, libraries, lecture halls, and computer labs KGMU is known for its high standards of academic excellence and research.
