Aryabhatta Knowledge University, also known as AKU Patna, is a public state university established in 2010 by the Government of Bihar. It is named after the ancient Indian mathematician Aryabhatta. The university aims to promote professional education related to technical, medical, management, and allied vocational fields in the state. It is recognised by the UGC and has PG departments and 44 constituent colleges. It offers various courses in UG, PG, Doctoral, Diploma, and vocational degree programs in science, social sciences, humanities and commerce. It also provides distance education through its affiliated colleges.
